Description

The Case Aide – Housing and Donations Volunteers assist the Refugee Resettlement Housing Supervisor with apartment set-up, coordinating food and care packages for new arrivals, and setting up furniture before refugees arrive in Houston. They might also assist with delivering food pantry items/donations and accompanying case managers to the airport for the arrival of new families. The Case Aide Volunteer will also assist with entering case notes and ensuring other documentation of services is collected.  

The supervisor of the volunteer will provide a detailed training on assisting with case file and administrative tasks and using the copy machine as well as an overall review of the intake process for clients enrolled into new programs.

The schedule is relatively flexible. Please speak with program staff and Volunteer Services about scheduling before beginning.

Requirements

  • Background check
  • TB test
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
