Description

Catholic Charities’ St. Frances Cabrini Center for Immigrant Legal Assistance provides a diverse array of immigration legal services in the greater Houston area. The Cabrini Center provides free and low-cost legal services to children who arrived in the U.S. alone, families seeking immigration assistance, crime victims, asylum seekers, and immigrants seeking to become U.S. citizens.

The Cabrini Center seeks the assistance of attorneys for pro bono representation of clients for the following types of cases:

  • Asylum cases, both affirmatively through the Houston Asylum Office and defensively with the Immigration Court. (Open to Attorneys licensed in any U.S. state or territory.)
  • Special Immigrant Juvenile Status cases, for juveniles who have been abandoned or abused by their parents in their home countries. (Texas Bar License Required)

Volunteer attorneys who take pro bono cases through the Cabrini Center will receive guidance and mentorship from Cabrini's experienced attorneys and legal professionals.

If you are interested in volunteering as an individual attorney or as a firm, please contact Ashlie Gutierrez, Volunteer Coordinator, at agutierrez@catholiccharities.org.
