Description

Catholic Charities Housing Program offers services to help families on the verge of becoming homeless, or who have already experienced homelessness. For those experiencing homelessness, Catholic Charities offers two programs: Rapid Re-Housing (RRH), in collaboration with the Houston Housing Authority and the Coalition for the Homeless, works to end homelessness for low-to-moderate income individuals and households residing in the City of Houston. The goal of this program is to increase self-sufficiency and housing stability by helping clients to gain and maintain viable housing. The Permanent Supportive Housing Program (PSH) is a HUD-funded grant that serves individuals and families who are chronically homeless.

Under the supervision of Catholic Charities staff, volunteer Office Assistants answer phones, welcome clients, file paperwork, and assist with other administrative tasks as needed. Office Assistants are required to maintain client confidentiality, work with accuracy and professionalism, and follow all instructions from staff supervisors.

Potential volunteers must have a passing criminal background check before interviewing with the Housing staff.
