Opportunities From: Catholic Charities Galveston - Houston

Volunteer: Host an Event

There are many ways to directly support our clients. Hosting an event for them either at a park, church, or recreation center is the perfect way to brighten their days and help them build community.

The staff at Catholic Charities is here to offer guidance and support for all interested in hosting an event.

Here are some event ideas:

Host a holiday party for refugee children, who are living in shelters. Host a baby shower for new parents in our Blessed Beginnings program. Host a holiday party for senior citizens. Host an outing for refugee youth in Catholic Charities programs, including an Astros or Texans game, a museum day, or a picnic and games at one of Houston's great parks.

No matter their age, our clients love to feel special and acknowledged. Even the smallest gesture could go a long way.

For questions and additional information, please contact Ashlie Gutierrez, Volunteer Administration Assistant, at agutierrez@catholiccharities.org.
